iPad Learning Buddies is a Sharon Education Foundation grant funded project.
In order to be successful in today’s world, students need to possess skills that focus on critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Students are expected to apply many problem-solving strategies to all areas of learning and are asked to communicate their mathematical reasoning and solutions orally and in writing using the appropriate symbols and vocabulary. At all levels, students’ writing should reflect their imagination and creativity. Many apps developed for the iPad allow students to express learning in innovative ways by incorporating the aforementioned skills. Students from Mrs. Stewart's second grade class and Ms. O'Brien's fifth grade class collaborated as learning buddies to utilize such apps to enhance the existing curriculum in a fresh, novel way, consistent with the technology-rich world in which we live.
